Scavenger Hunt Sunday!

Hello everyone,
It's been a long time since I have participated in Scavenger Hunt but finally this week I have time and took a picture for each theme!

Candy

I didn't find any candy in the house, but I found these lebkuchen and since they're sweet and delicious :) I thought they would suit just fine for candy.

Pink or Red

Love

Kisses

My cat and her new toy :)

Smile

This was my meal a few days ago: a buttered bagle cut in half and rice. I didn't even take this photo on purpose for scavenger hunt, I was in a funny mood that day :) and took this with my phone.

I wish everyone a great week and happy Scavenger Hunting!

Cake and sun, everything fun!

Hello again!
Long time no see - or should I say - long time no write!

As everyone knows (well, normally), Thursday was st Valentin's day. Well, I have no boyfriend so I didn't have a date or anything, but since it was also the birthday of my mother's partner, she made a delicious German schwarzwälder kirschtorte (black forest cake) in a shape of a heart ;)

It was delicious!!! I just had to take a picture to show it to everyone cause it's so cute.
We went to a lovely pizzeria for dinner and had this cake for desert. We thought we'd never eat it all but we did! It's actually not such a heavy cake.
How was your St Valentin's day?

Anyway, today it's finally sunny! This reminds me the posts I used to publish last spring when I was sick and tired of the cold. Well, at least it wasn't that cold this winter, it was just very wet (floods everywhere and fields turning into mini lakes).

So I went outside this morning and was enjoying the sun (and also trying to get my cat to come outside), when I thought of trying out jumping on my ripped-up-by-weather trampoline with my camera to get funky photos. Well that didn't work out that well!

Haha strange pictures indeed :D
When I went back into the house, Kitty was still there because madame is too posh to go outside in the sun!

So that was my little sunny morning!
I also found a little toy for Kitty that use to belong to her mama, so I gave it to her but she's not too impressed by it yet :)

Thought I'd share a little picture:

Anyway, I must go now but I hope everyone has a nice day and a lovely weekend!

A quick animation

Hello everyone!
I was sitting outside today since it's the first time it's been sunny here for weeks! and I was taking photos (of course ;P), when my cat (Kitty) went through a hole in the wall that I've never noticed before. It used to be hidden by plants, but now since we're winter ( well spring), I can see my cat using it to go into the barn.
So I took a few shots and thought that it would make a great animated picture. I haven't done any in ages! I used my new photoshop cs6, which actually made it much more complicated to make a gif file than my old photoshop 7 was.

So I hope it works! Well it seems too :)

Hope you like it!

DIM (did it myself): Sunday Sweets Box

Hello everyone!
A week ago I decided to stop eating sweets and chocolate during weeks and only having some on Sundays.
I'm happy to say that I managed this week without any sweets crossing my mouth!!

Anyway, since my sweets box was just an old shoe box, I decided to decorate it a bit.
So here are the photos. I decorated it in the bathroom where it was waaaarrmmm :) which can explain the orange tiles and the shower.

The quality of the pictures isn't great because it was quite dark that day and I was in a bit of a hurry.

So that's my new little sweets box where I keep the sugary stuff that I get as presents. I now added a huge toblerone bar that stops the box from closing and I can't wait for tomorrow to eat some!!!

Have a nice day and hope to see you soon again!

Photoshop Quick Tip: getting rid of unwanted object(s)

Hello everyone!
Today I took a picture of my cat threw my window when she was begging for food again :)
Strangely, she stared at the camera for a few seconds which gave me time to take her picture. It's great cause she's a cat that moves a lot.
So I loaded it up to my computer only to remember that there was the thermometer in the way. Having received the new photoshop cs6 only a week or two ago, I'm still learning all the new buttons and options that didn't exist on photoshop 7.

I wanted to share with the new photoshoppers out there, a method to get rid of something unwanted in the background of a picture: here it being a thermometer.

So here is Kitty, my little chubby cat:

So let's start!

1. Open your picture in Photoshop :)

2. Select the Marquee tool or the Lasso tool (on the left tools bar)

3. select the object
4. Select edit > fill

5. Now you can select the "contents" you want in the drop down box thingy but I just select "Content-aware"
Mode:normal
Opacity: 100%

And voila!

Here is my photo of Kitty after these steps in Photoshop:

So that was my Photoshop Quick Tip of the day! Keep in mind that this is the way I do it and that it's in no way the only way to do it.

Thank you for reading and I wish everyone a great day!

Cats again?

Hello everyone!
I'm writing this post quite quickly before I spend a week at a place where internet doesn't like to arrive.
You must be wondering...cats again? Well yes. I love photography but my family doesn't like being taken in photo so all I have left is my cat.
Say hello to Ali Baba!

Have a great day!

Ho Ho Ho! Late Merry Christmas!

Hello!!
It's been SUCH a long time since I've written, or even been, on my blog!
Well...I have an explanation for this. You see, a few weeks ago, my lovely acer laptop decided to simply die on me.
So I was left computerless for a while! But for christmas my sweet brother and my parents decided to give me my brother's old toshiba computer (that still works wonderfully well) that needed a few new parts (battery, plug and keyboard).
So here I am again!! And -since it's too late to wish everyone merry christmas- I hope everyone had a great christmas :)
Today I decided to take a few pictures of one or two of my new presents (and you'll understand why I'm taking EVERYTHING in picture).

And THIS is why I've been taking photos non-stop everyday! Here is my new canon ef 50mm 1.8 !! He is small, light and just wonderful!

I'm sooo happy with my new lens. It's so sharp. So much sharper than my other one.
I thought that the problem with my other lens was the fact that I wasn't doing a good job with manual so I started taking everything in automatic and yet, the photos were still blurry-ish. (Look at my last post to understand what I mean).
And now today I'm learning the system of manual and it works! proof: these pictures were taken manually. :)
By the way, I use to have the photoshop 7 but now I got the photoshop CS6 and it's so much better! I can even open RAW files now :P

My laptop has got one problem I've got to fix: it stretches everything: photos, etc. So I hope these pictures aren't too big or stretched or whatever! I have the impression that they are a bit big :P
What I also find strange is that all the icons I had on the right of my blog and the "next page" at the bottom don't appear on my screen...mysterious...

I hope you all have a lovely evening/day and I'll be posting again soon, oh yes I will! :D

Here are some more pictures (just because it's christmas :P ):

Have a great day!

p.s. merry christmas to JipetSun! Hope to see some new posts on your blog too :)
